1881 Flood 3rd Edition

April 11 - - A news reporter took a trip in a skiff, reported the low lands inundated. . He wrote the river on Saturday night raised five and a half inches while yesterday afternoon up to 6:00 o’clock it had raised only three. The river engineers report that the river was eleven feet and four inches about the high water mark at this point yesterday. Today it has fallen over an inch and is steadily going down. It is thought that the flood is over and in a few days the river will be back in its banks once more.
