 Sunday Blessings!

"After the Storm"     Picture by Scott Holmes

June 26-27

We are so thankful for the nice rain we got the other day, and pray that God will bring us safely through the storms.

Happy Birthday to Don Shipley on the 29th, and Rosemary and Crystal on July 3rd.

Remember Beth's mother, Mary, in your prayers as she is in the hospital for tests.
Pray for Don Baker as he will be going back to Africa Friday to continue his mission work.
Continue to pray for Judy McElroy, Larry Warren, Brian & Kelly. Keep Mel and Nancy Hurst in your prayers.  Mel is in the hospital.

We hope to see you at the congregational meeting this Sunday, June 27, at 10:00. Come prepared to share your honest opinion on how we should proceed.

I have never written this during a storm before, but the videos I chose earlier really are appropriate for now!

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

I just saw on Facebook the tremendous damage done by the storm in the Riverton and Farragut area. So many trees are down. I called Betty Booker and she said she has one uprooted tree but it didn't hit her house. Others were not spared. Keep Betty and her neighbors in your prayers.~ Mary

Old churches must not simply stand as monuments to the past but as spiritual grandparents that have invested in the future by passing on their life to others and releasing their offspring to form new congregations. unknown

It's not our job to fix people, change people or judge people.  It's our job to love people.  The rest is in God's hands.

 Sunday Blessings!

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord ~ Jeremiah 17:7

June 19-20
Happy Father's Day! Hope you have some special plans with your family!

Happy Anniversary to Dana and Terry today!

Let's all pray that we get some much needed rain this weekend.
Pray for the family of Ned Cox who passed away this week. He was a former superintendent at the Sidney School.
Please continue to pray for Kelly and Brian, Mindy, and Larry Warren.

Don't forget the congregational church meeting next Sunday, June 27, at 10:00.

I have two special videos for Father's Day. The first is a father/daughter duet singing "The Prayer." The second is a choir of children singing "I See a Hero." I hope you enjoy them.
Mary

I came across these words this past week and realized I was one of those people that "needed to hear this." After my health scare and finding out about Kelly and Brian losing their home in a fire and well let's face it, each one of us has our own trials we're faced with, so just maybe these words will help you too...

"He is not a God who bolts when life falls apart.  He sticks around and helps you put the broken pieces back together.  If you're in a hard place right now, keep your eyes open.  Don't give up.  He's working in the middle of your 'this'."   Jennifer Dukeslee

I would also like to thank everyone for the prayers, love and concern. Feeling better each day. ~Mindy

These past months we have been sharing church memories each week.  Sometimes I feel that we have shared quite a few of them more than once, so I thought I would change things up a bit.

To me there is a certain charm and beauty found in not only abandoned churches but also little old country churches tucked away all around the countryside.

While gathering photos of these churches, I came across the following statement that I believe describes them perfectly:

Old churches must not simply stand as monuments to the past but as spiritual grandparents that have invested in the future by passing on their life to others and releasing their offspring to form new congregations. unknown

Looking through past photos of church and church gatherings, I thought it might be nice to share one or two every Sunday, calling it, "Captured Moments from the Past."
Here's today's captured moments..

Hopefully many of us are still enjoying the many recipes found within.
