 Sunday Blessings!

Everything looks stunning in Autumn and Autumn... has arrived.  In this photo one of the things you may notice is the simplicity of an old door with chippy paint. Some may view it as in dire need of repair, but I view it as a work of art.  An old piece that has weathered many  storms and yet has acquired a beauty you can not replicate.  An old brick, that too, has become a little rough around the edges, but if able, could tell us a story or two. And of course, a flower, a beautiful representation of the color of fall. I have always been grateful to live in an area where I get to experience the changing of the seasons.  Each one capturing a beauty of its own. Aren't we kind of like this too? As we age we go through our own seasons of life, we tend to get a little rough around the edges. We're not the same version of our younger selves, but hopefully, not only are we gaining wisdom but perhaps we're becoming more beautiful within, for we have each weathered storms, encountered blessings and have many stories to tell. ~ Mindy

 Sunday Blessings!

Just look at these sunflowers! Are they not beautiful?  Gorgeous shades of orange. Notice the one with the yellow tips at the end of its petals and then yellow again around the center.  How does it know to grow and bloom so perfectly, to insert the right hues at just the right places?  I honestly do not know how anyone can look at a flower and not see the hand of God.  Looking at this picture, another Sunday School song popped into my head, once again, one that I haven't sung for many years,  "Rise and Shine."

Rise and shine, and give God the glory glory, rise and shine and give God the glory glory, rise and shine and give God the glory glory, children of the Lord. ~  Mindy

 Sunday Blessings!

Yesterday on 9/11/2021 Hamburg celebrated their Popcorn Day Festival with the theme of "Hamburg USA--Poppin' Proud."  But we also paused and remembered September 11, 2001 where almost 3000 people lost their lives during the attacks at the Twin Towers, Pentagon and aboard United Airlines Flight 93.  Let us never forget.

"When Americans lend a hand to one another, nothing is impossible.  We're not about what happened on 9/11.  We're about what happened on 9/12."  ~ Jeff Parness

"If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate." ~ Sandy Dahl, wife of Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl.

As I mentioned above, Pastor Donna hosted a tea party at her home for the ladies of the church.  She had so many pretty tea cups and we each got to choose a cup that caught our eye for our tea. This was a hard task as they were all so lovely. We had sandwiches followed by scones and cookies.  We were able to tour her beautiful home as well. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.  Thank you Pastor Donna!
