In October 2015, the congregation was challenged to collect sneakers, gym shoes and baseball caps for the Syrian Refugee Crisis.  Results were tremendous as 70 pairs of shoes and nearly 200 baseball caps were received.

Pastor’s Thoughts

These thoughts are being written before I have returned from Disney
World, and riding on Space Mountain with 4 grandchildren, screaming at
every turn and the youngest Grady meeting Mickey Mouse on his birthday.
Will share more at a later time.
July is the time when America celebrates in large cities, urban
communities, small towns and rural our independence from England with
fireworks, picnics, parades and pride. We remember, recall and reflect on
the themes of democracy, liberty, and freedom afforded to all who call the
United States of America their home.
Our country is not without its flaws, faults and failures, but is still a
beacon of light to many who come to its shores and many more who cannot
but dream, or seek freedom in their own nations.
My concern is that this summer could produce a greater chasm than
the one that exists today. Paul writes in Gal.3:28; "There is neither Jew nor
Greek, bond or free, male or female," but in the  Body of Christ all are one
in Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord of all who receive Him.
So, as Christians let us be peacemakers, let us be merciful, and if we
have to; let us suffer persecution for righteousness sake, for we are citizens
of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Pastor Blaine
