Mary Zach welcomed everyone and read a book on the story of Easter.

Followed by singing and dancing.

There were several craft projects everyone could make. Easter cards were being made here.

Another fun project was making stained glass crosses to hang in a window.

They could also take a turn at Bingo.

For refreshments, everyone had a Resurrection roll. Here, Barb Handy is showing how they are made. You take a crescent roll and flatten it out. This represents the linens Jesus was wrapped in. You then take a large white marshmallow, which represents our sinless Savior, and roll the marshmallow in butter, representing the oil Jesus was anointed with. Next, roll it in spices just as Jesus was wrapped in linen and spices. You then seal the marshmallow in the roll just as Jesus was sealed in the tomb. Place in the oven and bake.

Here Joan Tiemeyer is showing what happens after they have baked.

You tear them open and just like the tomb, they are empty. The marshmallow disappeared. Jesus is risen! It really was neat to see!

Thank you Mary Zach for planning this fun celebration and to all those that helped!

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter

The Seder Meal is commemoration of the Exodus story and God’s Providence in delivering His people from Egypt. Twelve of us and Pastor Blaine gathered to celebrate and remember our Lord’s establishment of a New Covenant through giving Himself as Sacrifice for our sins.  This New Covenant is grounded in relationship with Christ through grace and faith.

Church History

Lynn Handy shared with us the following news item that was most likely in an Omaha, Nebraska or Council Bluffs, Iowa 1945 newspaper.  It is very interesting information concerning Percival. The first paragraph alone is incredible. I cropped the article into 3 sections so it would be large enough for you to read.

Church Blog Information

Just wanted to post a little reminder on how to access monthly information on the blog. If you will notice on the right side bar you can sign up to receive new blog post updates.  Just enter your email and submit. This way, you will receive an email telling you there has been a new blog post, without having to go to the blog itself and check.

Underneath “Followers” you can also click “follow” to follow the blog.

Also on the right, you will see a bulletin board with a green push pin. You can click on that image and it will take you to the page with a list of upcoming events and announcements.

Clicking on the pink cupcake, you will find the monthly birthdays and anniversaries.

The new added feature is “Cares and Prayers.” Clicking here will provide you with our prayer list.

After you have clicked on those links and read the information, you can return to the home page of the blog by clicking on the word “home” which you will find towards the bottom of those pages.

Have a great week!
