 My butterfly garden.  Tall grass looking  plant is cosmos.  When it flowers later this summer,  butterflies will love it.

 Next Mary Zach sent us the following pretty blooms

 My Easter lilies are just opening.  I bring the Easter Lilies home from church and plant the bulbs.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. 

Two days later here they are in their full glory!

How Does Your Garden Grow Part 2

First up we have a beautiful view of Dave and Beth Lueth's campsite at the river, looks so relaxing and peaceful! 

Next are some pictures from my sister in law Linda Sears. I especially like the old bicycle adorned with flowers.

My cousin is a photographer and is always taking beautiful pictures.  Here are a couple of local landscape photos.

How Does Your Garden Grow Challenge

Mary Zach thought it would be fun to have a "how does your garden grow" challenge.  We invited everyone to send in pictures of anything growing in your yard- flowers, vegetables, trees, landscaping ideas, etc. In the next few days we will be sharing some of your photos. If you haven't already, please send us a photo or two or several!  We will continue to post them as long as you continue to share.

Look out your window. The following is from the book, "Everyday mindfulness."

When we are busy indoors we seem to forget that we are part of the world outside.  If you are working inside today, make the effort to look out of the window, even if only for a short while.  This works particularly well if there is some nature outside to focus on-- trees, flowers, birds, or simply the clouds in the sky are all useful focal points to bring us back into the present moment.

I was able to enlist the help of a couple of volunteers demonstrating the art of looking out the window! :)  The first being our grandson and the second being our family kitty cat.

My flowers have not started blooming yet but I did want to share one of my favorite pictures from last year of our tree with a smiling face.

Message “Joy in Challenging Times”

Philippians was written by Paul as a “thank you” to the Philippian Church as he was under arrest in Rome awaiting his trial before Caesar. He wanted to convey how everything was going with him in the difficult times of his day.

In this introduction to the church, Paul gives some specific reminders:

1. Verse 3- He remembers the church on every occasion.
2. Verse 4- He remembers them in prayer and uplifts specific requests with joy.
3. Verse 5- He recalls times of fellowship, especially with the Gospel of Christ, from beginning to end.
4. Verse 6- Paul is confident that what God has begun He will finish.
5. Verse 9- The love of the Lord and each other will grow and abound.
6. Verse 11- All glory and praise be given to God no matter how difficult the circumstances.

As members of Percival Community Church, we also need to put into practice these spiritual habits and attributes so that the ministry and mission of the 

church will continue through the days, weeks, and months ahead, regardless of our situation. These guidelines can be accomplished whether we are physically present or not. May God’s Word be “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,” Psalm 119:105

"How Does Your Garden Grow" Challenge!

We would like everyone to send in pictures of anything growing in your yard- flowers, vegetables, trees, landscaping ideas, etc. Mary Zach sent this picture to get us started.
About four years ago, Nancy Newlon divided the daylilies in front of the church and gave me some of them. I planted them in the landscaping in front of my house. Now I have a beautiful row of daylilies along with some Black-eyed Susan and a hydrangea. 

Church Service Information

 We will not have services at the Percival Church until further notice. Pastor Blaine has written a service that we can all do at our homes this Sunday, June 7th. We can think about everyone doing it at the same time.
