 Happy Sunday!

 The lighting of the Shepherd's candle reminds us of the joy we feel when we celebrate Jesus' Birth.

 Last week Mary and myself invited everyone to send us Christmas greetings and/or pictures, to share here on the blog. There is still time to get them to us this week and we will happily share them here next Sunday!

This morning are first greeting is from Joan Tiemeyer...

This year 2020, will bring us a far different Christmas celebration. From our overflowing homes with family to the solitary of life with a virus raging in the world. My sad little tree speaks to the hope that we carry as now large gatherings are limited or cancelled. My entire family of children, spouses, grand children and greats will all be celebrating in their homes. But, as long as we have memories yesterday is good, as long as we have hope, tomorrow awaits and as long as we have love today is way beyond beautiful! I will spend time remembering all the special times we  have shared through the years and will wish my church family a wonderful Christmas. May your heart be filled with gladness and your home be filled with joy.

 Merry Christmas, Joan

       ~~~~~~
 Joan also made this beautiful card and wrote the following:
 The sentiment for the card is expressed inside and reads, "For All The Thoughtful Things You Do". It was meant to express  appreciation for all that Mindy and Mary do to meet the lonesomeness of being without a church family or place of worship. Each week Hope is in the future and Caring is in place.We are all encouraged by the thoughts and reminders that God is love and to be thoughtful in every way to reach out in whatever way possible to meet those needs
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thank you Joan for sharing your pretty tree and Christmas message with us and for sharing your beautiful card and kind words!

 Next is a message from Nancy Newlon...

So many houses in Nebraska City have outdoor decorations that are so cute.  I am sending you a Merry Christmas from a house that's only a few blocks from where I live.
I  miss seeing my Percival Church family each Sunday.  This Christmas Eve I will be thinking of past candle light Christmas Eve services at Percival.  WONDERFUL MEMORIES.  Nancy

Thank you Nancy for sharing, it is so good to see and hear from you! Love the photo!

 As with Thanksgiving, Christmas will be a little different this year.  I have found, especially having been quarantined this past week, that it helps to keep my mind and hands busy. Thought I would share with you some projects I have enjoyed doing.

One day, I had fun playing with marshmallows. Creating little marshmallow fellows to add to my hot chocolate.  Another day I chose to build a gingerbread house. I had never made one before so decided now would be a good time to make it happen. Lastly, I sliced some oranges and dried them to either make a garland or ornaments, haven't decided yet.  I'm thinking about making some gingerbread men. If I get that accomplished, I'll be sure to share later. Also included a picture of our tree.

AND wanted to share this photo I captured of Jasper sleeping by the tree.  Wonder if he has visions of sugar plums dancing in his head?!

Thinking of you all with warm wishes for a Merry Christmas!

~~Mindy

Looking through past photos of church and church gatherings, I thought it might be nice to share one or two every Sunday, calling it, "Captured Moments from the Past."
Here's today's captured moments..
