 Good Morning!

This morning will be having a patriotic singspiration.

 Call to Worship

Prayer

Hymn  “America The Beautiful

Tithes and Offerings, Doxology

Hymn  “My Country, 'Tis of Thee

Praise and Prayer

Responsive Reading: Galatians 5:13 - 6:2  Life by the Spirit

Leader: 13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
All: 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Leader: 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be
destroyed by each other.
All: 6 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Leader: 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the
Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
All: 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Leader: 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
All: 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
Leader: 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
All: 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Leader: 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
All: 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Leader: 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
All: 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Doing Good to All
Leader: 6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
All: 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

I wanted to share some pictures with you this morning.  My cousin, Tif Holmes posted a video on Instagram of this beautiful sunset.  As always, pictures never do it justice. ~Mindy

Can you even?.......

Nothing will stop me in my tracks more than a beautiful sunrise or sunset.  I just stand there in awe.

"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!"  Psalm 113:3

I am going to place a link HERE if you would like to see the short video of the sunset.  I do not know if you have to have an Instagram account to be able to view it or not.

Next time you see a glorious sunset, remember that those amazing colors are just "God's little extras."  Remember the important message of every sunrise and sunset:  God is "on the job!"  He is faithful.  We can count on Him. ~ Judy A Knox

Good Morning!

 Call to Worship, Acts 9:1-4

Prayer

Hymn  “At Calvary

Tithes and Offerings, Doxology

Hymn  “Just As I Am

Praise and Prayer

Responsive Reading: Acts 9:5-19

Leader: 5 “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
All: 6 “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what
you must do.”
Leader: 7 The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they
heard the sound but did not see anyone.
All: 8 Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he
could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.
Leader: 9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink
anything.
All: 10 In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord
called to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered.
Leader: 11 The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight
Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
All: 12 In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place
his hands on him to restore his sight.”
Leader: 13 “Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports
about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in
Jerusalem.
All: 14 And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to
arrest all who call on your name.”
Leader: 15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my
chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their
kings and to the people of Israel.
All: 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
Leader: 17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing
his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who
appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so
that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
All: 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and
he could see again. He got up and was baptized,
Leader: 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem
All: Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.

Good Morning!

Call to Worship, Acts 8:1-3

Prayer

Hymn  “I Love To Tell the Story

Tithes and Offerings, Doxology

Hymn  “I Know Whom I Have Believed

Praise and Prayer

Responsive Reading: Acts 8:26-40

  Philip and the Ethiopian

Leader: 26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”
All: 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a] eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship,
Leader: 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.
All: 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”
Leader: 30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
All: 31 “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
Leader: 32 This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter,
and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
All: 33 In his humiliation he was deprived of justice.
Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”
Leader: 34 The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”
All: 35 Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
Leader: 36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”
All: 37 Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
Leader: 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.
All: 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.
Leader: 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea

* A little background on today's sunflower picture. 🌻

This is the first and last sunflower bouquet I ever did. A few years back, my husband and I ventured out to pick some sunflowers, it was a fun day until evening came.  We were both sick that evening with major allergy issues like never before. Needless to say we never did that again. But oh, how pretty they were!  ~Mindy
