Jesus often taught by telling parables. Some of these parables compared people to plants. Read these parables-
The Parable of the Mustard Seed- Matthew 13:31,32

Hymn #365 "My Tribute"
When we think about harvesting, we usually think of corn, soybeans or maybe our garden vegetables. Jesus talked about harvesting people for God's Kingdom.
Read John 4:34-37
Read Galations 6:7-10
Read Luke 10:2
Hymn # 205 "Go Tell it on the Mountain"
Now we are going to talk about harvesting crops. First, let's see what it was like in Old Testament times.
Read Leviticus 19:9-10
Read Deuteronomy 24:19
Read Ruth 2:1-12
Hymn "Bringing in the Sheaves"
Prayer- Thank you, God for the corn and soybeans we harvested this year. Help us to harvest people for your kingdom too.
