mountainside and sat down.
All: His disciples came to him, (2) and he began to teach
them.
Leader: The Beatitudes - He said,
All: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Leader: 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
All: 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Leader: 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
All: 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Leader: 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
All: 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Leader: 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of
righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
All: 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Leader: 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in
heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

“I Never Said That” by Josh M
Lyrics
Behold my hands and my feet, That it is I myself
Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones
As you see me have, I bled for love, not for your war cries
I rose for mercy, not for your flags,You say it's in my name
But I never said that, You build your towers, raise your flags so high
Preach my name with a battle cry, "But blessed are the peacemakers," that's what I said
Not the ones who trade the living for the dead
You close your doors when the poor come to plead
I was hungry and you gave me no food when I was in need
You quote my words to tighten your chains, But love your enemy still remains
I never said, "Hate them" (hate them), I never said, "Fight" (fight)
I said, "Let your light shine before all men," bring them light
If you do it for power (power), You've forgotten my face (face)
For whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me, yeah
You guard your gold and curse the weak, But the meek shall inherit the earth, I speak,
You call them sinners while you stand tall, But let he without sin cast the first stone, that's all
You pray in public with words rehearsed, But when you pray, go in secret first
You wave your cross like a sword in your hand,
But I carried mine through the blood and the sand, I never said, "Hate them" (hate them)
I never said, "Fight" (fight), I said, "Turn the other cheek and walk in the light"
If you do it for power (power), You've forgotten my face (face)
For whatever you do to the least of these, you do in my place
The last shall be first, and the first shall be last,
But you've built your thrones to make that pass
"No one can serve two masters," I told you plain,Yet, you still bow down to fortune and fame,
I never said, "Hate them" (hate them), I never said, "Fight" (fight)
I said, "Love one another as I have loved you," that's right
You wear my name, but not my grace, For I was the refugee you turned away
The migrant mother with no place to stay,
For whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me
For I was a stranger, And you didn't take me in

Please check what supply levels are low.
Last Sunday for Mother's Day, the men prepared a delicious breakfast for all of us, which was very nice of them. Pastor Donna also gave each of the ladies pretty flowers to take home and plant, which made the day feel even more special. Thank you everyone who helped make the day memorable.

Old churches must not simply stand as monuments to the past but as spiritual grandparents that have invested in the future by passing on their life to others and releasing their offspring to form new congregations. ~ unknown
