Good Morning!

 Sermon:  Discussion of Psalm 23

Hymns:

Holy, Holy, Holy

In the Garden

Responsive Reading:  Psalm 23

 Responsive Reading: Psalm 23

 The Lord is my shepherd;

 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen

 I shall not want.

 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

 He leadeth me beside the still waters.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

 He restoreth my soul:

 May god himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

 He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

 You have made known to me the paths of live; you will fill me with joy in your presence.

’ Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

 I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;

 But Jesus immediately said to them “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

 thou anointest my head with oil;

 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

 my cup runneth over.

 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

 and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

But our citizenship is in heaven And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ

Old churches must not simply stand as monuments to the past but as spiritual grandparents that have invested in the future by passing on their life to others and releasing their offspring to form new congregations. ~ unknown
